Sul Ross Logo Faculty Workshops for Spring 2014

The Title V Postbacc and HITAP Grants are providing Open Labs and Faculty Workshops at the Teaching Academy in MAB 300 during Spring 2014.

Instructional designers Sandy Bogus and Estella Vega will be available to help with your online courses. All Faculty are welcome! We will present a topic from 1:00-2:00 pm, (see schedule below) then be available on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 am and 3:30 pm for any assistance you need.

You can bring your laptop or use one of ours. Bring your course materials and syllabus if you need help uploading. Inquire about available software and hardware tools. We have laptops, flip video cameras, digital cameras, and electronic voice recorders that you may borrow.

The open labs in MAB 300 are on Wednesday and Thursday from 11:30 am-3:30 pm

Blackboard 9 Grade Center: Including inline grading, needs grading, creating columns, organizing grade center

Blackboard 9 Rubrics: Creating Rubrics, adding rubirics to Assignment Tool, safe Assign and Discussion Boards.

Teaching Techniques: Using Wacom tablets, Panopto, Adding links to videos in your course, Survey Monkey, Journals.

Course Development: Evaluate your own course with the QM Rubric and Blackboard Exemplary Course Rubric, Backward Course Design, Magna Commons courses.

Blackboard Retention Center: How to track student progress, monitor specific students, set criteria for monitoring, work with Brandy Snyder to retain students.
